# UAE Ranks 9th Globally for AI Company Density
The UAE has secured ninth place globally in AI company density, recording 49.5 AI enterprises per million people, according to the Global AI Competitiveness Index published by the International Finance Forum (IFF) and Deep Knowledge Group. The index evaluated more than 55,000 AI enterprises worldwide, placing the UAE alongside innovation powerhouses including Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The ten countries with the highest AI company density are:

UAE AI Strategy 2031: A $91 Billion GDP Goal
The UAE AI Strategy 2031 is designed to generate $91 billion (AED 335 billion) in GDP and achieve 50% cost reductions across key sectors through AI-driven innovation. To accelerate this goal, the government launched the $2.7 billion (AED 10 billion) Dubai Future Accelerator Fund, directing significant capital into AI infrastructure and emerging technology ventures.
The UAE also became the world's first country to appoint a dedicated Minister of Artificial Intelligence, signalling the depth of the government's commitment to making AI central to national development.
World's First AI University and Golden Visa Talent Drive
The UAE created the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) — the world's first dedicated AI research university — which offers scholarships and research opportunities to students and academics globally. To build a long-term talent pipeline, top AI professionals can obtain a 10-year Golden Visa, a programme that has supported annual AI talent growth of 30% in the country.
G42: The UAE's AI Industry Champion
Abu Dhabi-based G42 stands as the defining example of the UAE's private-sector AI ambitions. In 2024, Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in G42 to advance research in healthcare, finance, and smart city solutions. G42 also developed Jais, a 30-billion-parameter open-source Arabic AI language model trained on extensive Arabic data and English computer code — positioning the UAE as a world leader in Arabic-language AI technology.
